The event has been categorised as Bronze level event by the World Athletics.

The 1st Indian Open 2025, a World Athletics Continental Tour bronze-level meet, will be hosted at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar on Sunday, August 10. This will be the first-ever Continental Tour event to be hosted in India.

A total of 156 athletes from 18 countries will compete across 17 disciplines—nine events in the men’s category and eight in the women’s category.

The upcoming Indian Open 2025 provides athletes with an opportunity to secure a direct spot in the World Athletics Championships 2025, scheduled to take place in Tokyo in September.

Hosts India have the largest contingent with 99 athletes expected to take the field on Sunday. The Indian contingent includes the likes of Animesh Kujur, long jumper Murali Sreeshankar, triple jumper Abdulla Aboobacker, javelin throwers Shivpal Singh, Yashvir Singh, and Annu Rani.

Several other known players from the Indian athletics circuit will be a part of the one-day event.

Here is the complete list of disciplines, scheduled to take place at the 1st Indian Open 2025 in Bhubaneswar.

Men’s: 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 5000m, long jump, triple jump, javelin throw, 4x400m relay

Women’s: 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1500m, 100m hurdles, long jump, javelin throw

The 1st Indian Open 2025 will be held at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar on Sunday, August 10. The morning session will commence at 7:40 am and conclude in an hour, while the evening session will start at 5:00 pm and end by 8:30 pm
