She will face tough competition from world record holder Gudaf Tsegay, who won the event with a time of 14:00.21. The sport’s record books could be changed by two giants, one track and 12 and a half laps. If the pace goes from honest to brutal early, we might be talking about sub-14.

This is just the beginning. The men’s 5000m race will also be in focus in the next 10 days. Oslo will host Hagos Gebrhiwet, Yomif Kejelcha, Berihu Aregawi, and NCAA champion Graham Blanks. Stockholm brings in Olympic champions Cole Hocker and Selemon Barega to take on Sweden’s own Andreas Almgren.
