Neeraj Chopra will make his second Diamond League appearance on June 20.

Neeraj Chopra will compete in the Paris Diamond League 2025 at the Stade Sebastien-Charlety in Paris on June 20, marking his second Diamond League appearance this season. He was previously seen in action at the Doha Diamond League on May 16.

The two-time Olympic medalist finished second in the men’s javelin throw final at the Doha Diamond League. He registered a best throw of 90.23m to secure the second place on the podium. With this remarkable throw, Neeraj broke his national record and registered a throw of over 90m for the first time in his career.

Germany’s Julian Weber secured the top spot with a throw of 91.06m. This was the German javelin thrower’s first-ever 90+ throw. Anderson Peters from Grenada finished third in the standings, having registered a best throw of 85.64m.

An overview of Neeraj Chopra’s performance in the 2025 season

Neeraj Chopra began his 2025 season on a positive note at the Potch Invitational Meet in South Africa on April 16. He registered a throw of 84.52m to finish atop the standings. He then competed in the Doha Diamond League on May 16, where the Indian athlete set a new National Record in the men’s javelin throw event.

The Indian Olympian took the field on May 23, competing in the Janusz Kusocinski Memorial Athletics Meet in Poland. He registered a throw of 84.14m to finish second on the podium behind Germany’s Julian Weber.

Neeraj Chopra’s appearance in the Paris Diamond League will be his fourth event this season. He is scheduled to compete in the Ostrava Golden Spike Athletics meeting in the Czech Republic on June 24 and the first edition of the Neeraj Chopra Classic in Bengaluru. The Neeraj Chopra Classic 2025 will be the first-ever Continental Tour Gold-level or A Category event to be held in India.
