The BWF (Badminton World Federation) World Tour will return on Tuesday, March 7, 2023, with the German Open. This is the fifth BWF tour tournament of the year and will take place in Mülheim, Germany. Before the prestigious All England Open, the renowned German Open will take place, and there will be numerous pioneers that will represent their nation, like Lee Zii Jia, Kodai Naraoka, Kunlavudt Vitidsarn, Lakshya Sen and many more. Lakshya Sen, who took home the Silver Medal in the last edition, will be watched closely.
About German Open and India’s performance
The German Open is traditionally held immediately before the All-England Open, the world's most renowned badminton event. Every year, the top players in the world gather in Mülheim a der Ruhr to compete for cash prizes. Yonex is the current sponsor of the German Open. Lakshya Sen won the silver medal in Men’s singles when he faced Kunlavut Vitidsarn in German Open 2022.
Lakshya Sen is one of the top seeds in the tournament. India’s performance was decent in 2022, but they will try for the title this year. The start of team India in 2022 was strong, but the end was not as good as the start. In the previous edition of the tournament, India was ranked 17th.

The German Open will start from March 7 (Tuesday) and will continue until March 12 (Sunday). The tournament will start with the qualifiers with on March 7, the main draw will begin a day later.
