Lakshya Sen is India’s next poster boy in the men’s singles event of badminton. Currently World No. 20 in the BWF men’s singles rankings, Lakshya Sen has had a mixed run in recent years. After the highs of the 2022 season, he went through inconsistency in 2023 but still managed to win the Canada Open (Super 500). In 2024, he lifted the Syed Modi International (Super 300) title, ending the year on a high.
In 2025, Sen has been searching for a big breakthrough. After several early exits and semifinal runs, he finished as the runner-up at the Hong Kong Open (Super 500), his first final of the season, showing glimpses of the form that once made him a top-10 player in the world.
Earlier in his career, he played a key role in helping the Indian side win the historic Thomas Cup 2022 title. Around this period, the youngster broke into the top 10 of the BWF rankings before finally dropping off in January 2023.
