Lee Chong Wei's Career in Numbers: Records, Stats & Titles
The Malaysian was forced to retire relatively early because of nose cancer.
Lee Chong Wei is perhaps the greatest men's singles badminton player to ever step on the court. The Malaysian has won everything the sport has to offer, except for an Olympic gold medal in the men's singles event. In a country that has seen far more success in the doubles categories, Lee Chong Wei put Malaysia on the map in the singles event.
His rivalry with the likes of the Chinese superstars Lin Dan and Chen Long, Denmark's Peter Gade and Indonesia's Taufik Hidayat pushed the men's singles category to the greatest heights. The Malaysian has been an example to follow by the fans not only on the court but off of it as well. His response to Taufik Hidayat questioning the Malaysian's inclusion in the BWF Hall of Fame shows how well he carries himself off the court.
