The BWF Arctic Open 2023 is the eighth Super 500 event and the first event in October of the BWF (Badminton World Federation) World Tour 2023. For the uninitiated, the BWF World Tour now has nine Super 500 events, and the final one will be the Japan Masters 2023.
For Malaysia, Lee Zii Jia enters the men's singles event as the sixth seed (was eighth before the withdrawals of Lakshya Sen and Viktor Axelsen). They won't have any participation in the women's singles section, but the men's doubles event is loaded with all the three pairs that feature in the top 25 of the BWF world rankings for the event from the country.
The duo of Pearly Tan and Thinaah Muralitharan will be the third-seeded pair heading into the tournament, and there will be two Malaysian pairs in the top seeds for the mixed doubles event.
