Lakshya Sen was the last Indian shuttler to win the title.
The BWF Hylo Open is an annual badminton tournament inaugurated in 1988. It became part of the BWF World Tour in 2018 as a Super 100 level tournament. In 2021, the tournament was upgraded to Super 500 category. However, a year later the tournament was downgraded to Super 300 level.
A total of five Indians have so far won the Hylo Open title. Chetan Anand became the first Indian to win the competition in 2008. Jwala Gutta/Valiyaveeti Diju (2008), Rupesh Kumar/Sanave Thomas (2009), Shubhankar Dey (2018), Lakshya Sen (2019) are the others to win the competition.
Hosts Germany are the most successful nation to date having won 38.5 titles. However, the last title they won was way back in 2013 when Michael Fuchs and Brigit Michels won the mixed double title.
