The Yonex Sunrise India Open 2024, slated to unfold at New Delhi’s K. D. Jadhav Indoor Stadium from January 16 to 21, stands as the second tournament on the 2024 BWF World Tour. A cornerstone of badminton history, this event traces its roots back to the inaugural India Open championships in 1973. Organized by the Badminton Association of India and carrying the official sanction of the Badminton World Federation (BWF), the tournament boasts a substantial total prize pool of US$850,000.
With a rich tradition and a nod to India’s profound impact on global badminton, the India Open 2024 promises an exhilarating showcase of top-notch talent and fierce competition on the courts of the Indian capital.
With a bunch of withdraws coming in, Japan leads the pack with 20 representatives across all the disciplines, China one down at 21. India stands at fourth position with 14 representatives this time.
