Where and how to watch Orleans Masters 2024 live in India?
Mithun Manjunath will spearhead the Indian contingent.
The Orléans Masters 2024, a prestigious event in the badminton calendar, is set to commence in France. Organized by CLTO Badminton, it promises to be a battleground for emerging talents and seasoned players alike.
Initially launched as a regional competition in 1994, the event expanded to a national level by 1999. By 2012, it was recognized as the French International within the European circuit, receiving the Badminton World Federation’s endorsement as an International Series. In 2013, the tournament’s status was elevated to an International Challenge. To distinguish it from the well-known French Open in Paris, it was renamed to Orléans International in 2015.
India’s campaign in the tournament will be led by the young and dynamic Malvika Bansod, fresh off her victory at the Azerbaijan International. Alongside her, promising shuttlers like Imad Farooqui Samiya, Tanya Hemanth, and Anupama Upadhyaya are eager to leave their mark on the international stage.
In men’s singles, Kiran George is seeded third and will commence his journey against fellow Indian Sathish Kumar Karunakaran. The tournament will miss last year’s champion Priyanshu Rajawat, who opted for the All England Open in pursuit of Olympic qualification.
Doubles action will see India’s top-rated pair, MR Arjun and Dhruv Kapila, take center stage, while the women’s doubles duo of Simran Singhi and Ritika Thaker enter as the second seeds, adding depth to India’s challenge.
