Indonesia's Anthony Sinisuka Ginting ties knot with fellow shuttler Mitzi Abigail

Mitzi Abigail is a former professional Badminton player.

Anthony Sinisuka Ginting has entered into a new chapter of his life as he married his long-time partner Mitzi Abigail. The couple were dating since 2014 and held their wedding in the city of Bogor in West Java, Indonesia. The pair have been one of the most followed couples in Badminton as Abigail too had her moments during her professional career.

Ginting had proposed to Mitzi Abigail last year in Sydney, Australia as they shared the emotional moments on social media. The now married couple also posted pictures of their wedding which took place at the Amaryllis Boutique Resort. The Luxury Mountain Hotel In Puncak Cisarua, Bogor witnessed the couple dressed in white.

Abigail during her short stint as a shuttler reached the round of 16 in the Singapore International Series in 2013 and USM International Series 2014 in women’s singles. Although she still plays the sport occasionally, her presence has helped Ginting in his career. Abigail makes sure to cheer and support him during the tournaments.

They also have been together since their late teens and after completing a decade in their relationship, they decided to take the next step through holy matrimony. With a background in the sport, Mitzi Abigail understands the BWF tour schedule and the constant need of travelling with her now husband, Ginting.

Anthony Sinisuka Ginting has been one of the top talents from Indonesia in the sport of Badminton. He won bronze in men’s singles at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. Ginting became the first shuttler to win a medal in the youth Olympics medallist and Olympics. He finished third in the Youth Olympics in 2014 in Nanjing, China.

The world No #10 is currently the second highest ranked Indonesian player in the BWF men’s tour. Jonatan Christie is the highest ranked men’s singles player from Indonesia as he is placed fourth. Ginting had lost to Christie in the men’s singles final of All England championships this season.

With over 1.6 million followers on Instagram, Ginting has always kept his socials updated as fans get to know his life events. Even Abigail makes sure that her fans remain in touch with her daily life as she has over 126k followers in Instagram. She also posts regularly regarding her skin care routines.

The couple gave a peek of their pre-wedding rituals as they shared the pictures on social media. They had also shared videos with traditional wear with respect to their culture few days before the wedding.

Ginting was last seen competing in the Denmark Open two weeks ago as lost in the opening round. Now the Indonesian shuttler will be taking a short break from the tour as he and Mitzi Abigail will embark on a new path together.
