Lakshya Sen is the men’s singles defending champion at the Canada Open.

After the US Open 2024, the BWF badminton World Tour will shift to the Canada Open, a Super 500 tournament. The competition has been held annually since 1957 at the Markin-MacPhail Centre in Calgary, Canada. The Canada Open 2024 will be played from July 2 to 7.

Four Indians have won the tournament: Jwala Gutta/Ashwini Ponnapa (2015), Manu Attri/B. Sumeeth Reddy (2016), Sai Praneeth (2016) and Lakshya Sen (2023). Lakshya Sen will defend his title and other Indian youngsters will also look to do well. The focus will be on Priyanshu Rajawat, Kiran George, Ayush Shetty and Anupama Upadhyaya to reach deep into the tournament
