Treesa Jolly/Gayatri Gopichand in women’s doubles and Satwiksairaj Rankireddy/Chirag Shetty in men’s doubles will be India’s representatives on Day 5 at the BWF World Championships 2026.
While Treesa-Gayatri will be up against fourth seeds Jia Yi Fan/Zhang Shu Xian of China, Satwik-Chirag will face third seeds Liang Wei Keng/Wang Chang also of China for a place in the semis.
Both Indian pairs are just a win away from confirming a medal for India and extending the country’s long-standing run of winning at least one medal in the tournament since 2011.
Interestingly, it was Satwik-Chirag’s bronze that kept the tradition alive last year and the World No. 5 are currently the nation’s biggest hopes following the exits of PV Sindhu and Ayush Shetty.
The men’s doubles pair are eyeing their third medals in the competition, while Treesa-Gayatri are aiming for their first.
