Interestingly, all three teams—Taipei, Denmark and Korea—lost 1 and won 2 matches in the group phase. However, both Taipei and Denmark won more matches (10 each) than Korea (9) to book their spots in the quarters.
India, champions in 2022, started with a solid 4-1 win over Canada and then smashed Australia 5-0 to confirm their spot in the last eight. However, they were defeated 2-3 by the reigning champions and 11-time winners China in their final group phase match.
China, who topped Group A, will face Group B runners-up Malaysia in their quarter-final clash while Group C runners-up and hosts Denmark are up against Thailand, who won Group D.
Meanwhile, France—who stunned record 14-time winners and last edition’s runners-up Indonesia—will meet Japan for a place in the semi-finals.
The winner of the India vs Chinese Taipei quarter-final match will face the victor of France-Japan clash in the final four round. All semi-finals matches in the 2026 Thomas Cup will be played on Saturday before the tournament concludes with the title matches on Sunday.
