The BWF Korea Open 2024 will see the return of the top badminton players from around the world. The Japan Open had concluded on August 25 as the focus will now shift to Seoul. The main draw of the BWF world tour super 500 event will be finalised on August 27 after the end of qualifiers. The main draw for men’s, women’s and mixed doubles has been confirmed.

The men’s singles will be led by world No.1 Shi Yuqi of China. He had suffered a shocking loss in the semifinals of the Japan Open last week and will make sure to avenge his defeat at Seoul. He will be joined by defending champion Anders Antonsen, Li Shifeng and Japan Open 2024 runner up Chou Tien-chen.

In the women’s singles draw, world No.5 Akane Yamaguchi is fresh off from winning the Japan Open 2024 in front of her home crowd. Meanwhile, Wang Zhiyi will hope to overcome her lackluster performance during last week as she lost to Busanan Ongbamrungphan who went on to reach the finals. 

As for the Indian fans will not get to see the top seeded Indian players at Seoul as they are currently on a break. But there will be three Indian players competing in women’s singles and a pair each in women’s doubles and mixed doubles.

There will be no Indian players in the men’s singles and doubles draw at the Korea Open 2024. Defending men’s doubles champions, Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty have opted to skip the event this year.
