The tournament will commence on August 20.
Badminton fans are gearing up for the Japan Open 2024, a major tournament following the Olympics. This BWD Super 750 event, one of only six in its class, has been running since 1977 and will take place at Yokohama Arena.
The tournament’s prestige is notable, yet no Indian player has clinched the title to date. This year’s edition has seen many top-ranked players withdrawing, likely due to post-Olympic fatigue. Notable absentees include India’s HS Prannoy, Lakshya Sen, and PV Sindhu, as well as international stars like Carolina Marin, An Se Young, and the doubles pair Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty.
