Following the China Open, the Macau Open 2024 will commence on September 24. The tournament, a BWF World Tour Super 300 event, will take place at the Macao East Asian Games Dome in Macau. This will be the first time the Macau Open has been held since 2019.

Former World Number #1 Kidambi Srikanth is set to return after a four-month hiatus, having last competed at the Singapore Open in May, where he retired mid-match against Japanese shuttler Kodai Naraoka. Currently ranked #38 in the world, Kidambi will receive a bye in his first-round match.
