BWF World Tour Finals 2025: All you need to know about prize money & points on offer

The prize pool of the BWF World Tour Finals 2025 is highest for any tournament on the BWF calendar.
Another memorable year of high-class badminton is set to come to an end, with the BWF World Tour Finals 2025 set to be held from 17th December to 21st December at the Hangzhou Olympic Sports Centre Gymnasium in Hangzhou, China.
The format here is different from those on the calendar during the rest of the year. Only eight participants are involved in each category- the top eight from a table based on results from the entire year. They are divided into two groups of four each, with the top two qualifying for the semifinals.
This is a good opportunity for the likes of An Se Young (Women’s Singles) and Seo Seung Jae/ Kim Won Ho (Men’s Doubles), who have ten and nine titles respectively this year, to finish a dream season on a high.
It would take a strong effort to stop the Korean juggernaut. The field is set to be much more competitive in the other three categories.
The year 2025 didn’t really have much to remember for Indian shuttlers. This can be gauged from the fact that they have just a single representation in this tournament- the ace doubles duo of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty.
Drawn into group B, they would have to be at their best to get past the other contenders from the group- Aaron Chia/ Soh Wooi Yik, Liang Wei Keng/ Wang Chang and Fajar Alfian/ Muhammad Shohibul Fikri.
PV Sindhu is the only Indian to have emerged victorious in this competition- way back in 2018. The third seeds would be looking to end that drought here.
