All you need to know about prize money and points on offer at BWF Macau Open 2026

The total prize pool of Macau Open 2026 is US$370,000.

The BWF World Tour remains in Asia for the Sands China Macau Open 2026, a Super 300 event scheduled to take place from June 16 to 21 at the Macau East Asian Games Dome. The tournament will feature a competitive field across all five categories as players chase valuable ranking points and prize money.

Hong Kong’s Ng Ka Long Angus and Singapore’s Jason Teh headline the men’s singles draw, while South Korea’s Kim Ga-eun leads the women’s singles field. The tournament has, however, been impacted by a few notable withdrawals, with Indonesia’s Anthony Sinisuka Ginting and Moh. Zaki Ubaidillah pulling out from the men’s singles competition.

India will have a strong contingent in Macau, led by Kiran George, Tharun Mannepalli, Isharani Baruah, Anmol Kharb and Shriyanshi Valishetty. Several young Indian shuttlers will look to capitalize on the opportunity to earn crucial ranking points at the Super 300 event.

The doubles competitions also feature a number of established names. Former world champions and experienced campaigners such as Tan Wee Kiong, Goh V Shem, Apriyani Rahayu and Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti are among the notable entrants. In mixed doubles, top seeds Jiang Zhenbang and Wei Yaxin will start as favourites.

Last week at the Australian Open 2026, there were several notable results. Indonesia’s Alwi Farhan captured the men’s singles title after defeating China’s Dong Tian Yao in the final, while former world champion Akane Yamaguchi clinched the women’s singles crown with a victory over Thailand’s Pornpawee Chochuwong.

China dominated the doubles disciplines, winning all three titles in Sydney. Macau Open top seed Ng Ka Long Angus also enjoyed a strong run at the tournament, reaching the quarter-finals before his campaign was ended by eventual finalist Dong Tian Yao.

As a BWF Super 300 tournament, the Macau Open 2026 offers valuable ranking points towards the BWF World Rankings and qualification race for the World Tour Finals. Players will also compete for a share of the US$370,000 prize pool.

Macau Open 2026 points on offer

As per the BWF points system for Super 300 events, the winner of each category will earn 7,000 ranking points, while the runner-up will receive 5,950 points.

Players reaching the semi-finals will collect 4,900 points, whereas quarter-finalists will secure 3,850 points. A Round of 16 finish guarantees 2,750 points, while players exiting in the Round of 32 will receive 1,670 points.

Macau Open 2026 prize pool

According to BWF regulations, the total prize pool for the Macau Open 2026 is USD 370,000. Winners in both singles categories will receive USD 27,750, while champions in all three doubles events will earn USD 29,230 per pair.

The runners-up in all five categories will take home USD 14,060. Losing semi-finalists in singles events will receive USD 5,365, while doubles pairs will earn USD 5,180.

Quarter-finalists in singles categories will pocket USD 2,220, whereas doubles pairs will receive USD 2,682.50. Players reaching the Round of 16 in singles events will earn USD 1,295, while doubles pairs will receive USD 1,387.50.
