The BWF Para Badminton World Championships 2026 is a bi-annual event that showcases the best para-badminton players in the world. This year, the tournament is scheduled to take place from February 8 to 14 in Bahrain.
They compete in six sports classes and five categories, depending on their type and level of impairment. The championships were formerly run by the Para Badminton World Federation (PBWF) until it merged with the Badminton World Federation (BWF) in June 2011.
India will aim to build on its strong performance at the 2024 World Championships in Pattaya, Thailand, where it won a total of 18 medals, including three gold, four silver, and eleven bronze.
India delivered a dominant showing in the menโs SL3 category, with Pramod Bhagat clinching the gold medal. Suhas Lalinakere Yathiraj won the gold medal in the SL4 category. In the womenโs SU5 category, Manisha Ramadass secured a medal for India, contributing to the countryโs overall tally.

WH 1 โ Players in this class are those who have impairment in both lower limbs and trunk function and require a wheelchair to play
