The badminton world shifts its focus to India this week as the Syed Modi International 2024 gets underway from November 26. After the China Masters, this BWF Super 300 event on the World Tour circuit will serve as the final tournament before the BWF World Tour Finals next month.

The Syed Modi International 2024 will bring together athletes from across the globe, but it will be India’s top talents leading the charge for the title. Lakshya Sen, the number #1 seed, enters the tournament after a strong performance at the China Masters, where he made it to the quarterfinals, defeating Lee Zii Jia and Rasmus Gemke before falling to Anders Antonsen.

Lakshya will face stiff competition from fellow Indian shuttlers, with Priyanshu Rajawat and Kiran George, the second and third seeds, also aiming to make an impact with their past standout performances.

In the women’s singles, PV Sindhu is the top seed, although she has been facing challenges recently. She will be looking to bounce back and claim victory on home soil. Malvika Bansod, seeded second, has made a name for herself by reaching the Hylo Open Finals and has previously defeated prominent players such as Kirsty Gilmour and Olympic bronze medallist Gregoria Mariska Tunjung.
