India looks to make history at the Asia Cup.
India will face China in the quarterfinals of the FIBA U18 Asia Cup 2024 on September 7, 2024, in Amman, Jordan. This year’s tournament features 16 teams, with India ranked 41st globally. India managed to secure a spot in the quarterfinals after defeating Kuwait and narrowly escaping against Lebanon. Despite the tough competition in Group B, which included South Korea and Iran, the team advanced.
China, a powerhouse in the tournament with 11 titles, is aiming to add another championship after their dominant performance in the group stage. Their recent victory over Japan highlights their strong form heading into the knockout stages. The stakes are high as this tournament also serves as a qualifier for the FIBA U19 World Cup 2025, making each match critical for both teams.
India lost its opening match by 119-47 against Asian giants Korea in the first FIBA U18 Asia Cup 2024 match at the Prince Hamza Stadium, Jordan.
