FIBA West Asia Super League: Tamil Nadu announces 12-member squad, includes two American players
They qualified for the FIBA WASL after winning the national championship.
Tamil Nadu has announced its squad for the FIBA West Asia Super League (WASL), scheduled to start on May 25 in Doha.
The state will be representing India in the Super League, as they have earned a spot by winning the national championship. The announced squad consists of 12 players, of which 10 are domestic talents and the two remaining players are US nationals.
Earlier this week, the Basketball Federation of India (BFI) was in talks with the two American players. The talks have seemed to work as they have joined the Indian representatives. Here is the full squad:

A six-member coaching staff will also be travelling with the Tamil Nadu team. The coaching and support staff:

Tamil Nadu has been placed in Group B of the FIBA West Asia Super League 2024 alongside Kuwait Club & Kazma from Kuwait, and Shahrdary Gorgan from Iran in the final eight. Meanwhile, Group A consists of Lebanon’s Al Riyadi & CS Sagesse, Kazakhstan’s BC Astana, and Bahrain’s Manama.
The top two teams from each group will secure a spot in the semifinals. Moreover, the finalists earn a spot in the upcoming Basketball Champions League Asia in Dubai, scheduled to take place in June.

- May 25: vs Kuwait Club – 5:30 pm IST
- May 26: vs Shahrdary Gorgan – 5:30 pm IST
- May 28: vs Kazma at 8:30 pm IST
Last year, the Indian National Basketball League (INBL) champions, Chennai Heat, were set to represent the nation at the FIBA West Asia Super League (WASL). However, they had to withdraw their participation due to administrative reasons.
