Basketball India announces roster for FIBA 3x3 Asia Cup 2026 in Singapore

India’s women’s side won a gold medal at the 2013 FIBA 3×3 Asia Cup.

The Basketball Federation of India (BFI) has announced the squads for the upcoming FIBA 3×3 Asia Cup 2026 in Singapore. The qualifying round of the tournament will commence on April 1, and the final matches will be played on April 5 at the Kallang (formerly known as the Singapore Sports Hub).

Singapore will host the FIBA 3×3 Asia Cup for the fifth consecutive time, with 43 teams competing. In the qualifying round, expect the eight seeded sides; all other nations will be drafted into four groups, from which only the leader proceeds in the main draw.

The Indian men’s basketball team has been drawn into Group D in the qualifying round alongside Kazakhstan, Hong Kong, China and Bahrain.

If they win the group, they will join New Zealand and Qatar in Pool D in the main draw. The Indian team will play all three matches on Wednesday, April 1.

Defending champions Australia will aim to win their third consecutive, and sixth overall, 3×3 Asia Cup title. However, they would have to compete against the likes of two-time champions and top seed Mongolia, alongside China, Japan, New Zealand and Qatar, before lifting the coveted trophy.

Indian women’s roster for FIBA 3×3 Asia Cup 2026

The women’s Indian team is in group B of the qualifying draw alongside Malaysia and Turkmenistan. Winning the group would put them into Pool B of the main draw, where Mongolia and New Zealand have already secured berths. The women’s 3×3 Indian team will play both their qualifying round matches on Thursday, April 2nd.

Much like the men’s event, Australia have solidified their dominance in the women’s vertical, arriving in Singapore as defending champions and looking to capture their fourth overall title.

However, the top two seeds, China and Mongolia, along with Japan, the Philippines, and Singapore, could also prove to be significant candidates for the title.

Meanwhile, the coaching staff of the Indian contingent includes Prasanna Venkatesh Sivakumar as the head coach, and Reshma Senthil Kumar and Sica Shanmuga Singh Veerapandia as the physios.
