Shields (18-0, 3 KOs) enters as a heavy favourite over Scott (5-1-1), who won the vacant titles by majority decision over Olivia Curry last December and is fighting on home turf, away from her native Australia, for the biggest night of her career.
The bout is scheduled for 10 two-minute rounds, the standard format for womenโs professional boxing, and is not contested for undisputed status since Shields is the challenger rather than the reigning undisputed champion at the weight.
State Farm Arena will host its first-ever womenโs headliner, and Floyd Mayweather Jr. has confirmed he will be in attendance for the boxing event.
