Nishant Dev secures first-round knockout win over Cesar Diaz, extends unbeaten run

Nishant Dev’s professional record stands at 7-0.

India’s Nishant Dev continued the brilliant start to his professional boxing career with an emphatic first-round knockout win over Peru’s Cesar Diaz in a super welterweight bout on Sunday.

Fighting on the undercard of the blockbuster Anthony Joshua vs Kristian Prenga event, the Indian pugilist knocked down Diaz three times before the referee stopped the contest at the 2:56 mark of the opening round.

Dev started the bout on the front foot, flooring Diaz twice quickly. While the Peruvian managed to get on his feet, a clean left uppercut late in the round dropped him to the canvas for the third time.

Diaz managed to beat the count, but the referee ruled that he was unfit to continue and ended the bout with four seconds left on the clock.

As a result, Dev was handed a technical knockout victory. This extended his professional record to 7-0, with five of those wins coming by knockout.

The other two wins have come via unanimous decisions. In his professional career, Dev has secured wins over Alton Wiggins, Josue Silva, LaQuan Evans, Juan Medina, Ally Mbukwa, Juan Carlos Guerra, and Cesar Diaz.
