Oleksandr Usyk & Tyson Fury will again go face-to-face

Oleksandr Usyk defeated Tyson Fury by a split decision in May, becoming the first undisputed heavyweight champion since Lennox Lewis in 1999, and the first in the four-belt era. Fury appeared to be in control of the bout at the halfway stage until Usyk made a spectacular breakthrough.

In an exciting ninth round, the Ukrainian threatened to stop ‘The Gypsy King’, prompting the referee to call a count after determining that only the ropes had kept Fury on his feet. Usyk ultimately won a high-caliber heavyweight fight by split decision.

Fury suffered his first professional defeat against Usyk. Fury seeks vengeance as well as the opportunity to reclaim the unified WBC, WBA, and WBO world heavyweight belts as they face off in the Riyadh Season event live.

To make space for this second fight, Usyk relinquished the IBF title, which mandatory challenger Daniel Dubois took up and defended against Anthony Joshua.

Usyk looks forward to his rematch with Fury. “Just happy to fight. The second fight will be good. Tyson knows what I do. I know what Tyson does. It’s a great time for me, for my opponent. I’m very happy,” said Usyk.

When is Oleksandr Usyk vs Tyson Fury 2 scheduled for?

The rematch between Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury is scheduled for Saturday, December 21, at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Timings will be officially verified around a week before the fight, although the main event is scheduled to begin at about 11 p.m. UK time.

There are two heavyweight fights, with the up-and-coming Moses Itauma fighting the seasoned Demsey McKean, while Johnny Fisher and Dave Allen square off in an all-British clash.

Former WBA light middleweight champion Israil Madrimov takes on Serhii Bohachuk, while European super bantamweight champion Dennis McCann defends his title against Peter McGrail.

Isaac Lowe will begin the show in a featherweight encounter against Scotland’s Lee McGregor, who has won his last two fights by knockout.

Official rules for Oleksandr Usyk vs Tyson Fury 2

Fury and Usyk will fight for the WBC, WBA and WBO heavyweight belts. Usyk became the undisputed heavyweight champion after defeating Fury in their first fight, however, he has since relinquished the IBF title.

The battle will last 12 rounds. Each round will last three minutes, with the fight lasting 36 minutes if it goes all the way. This match had the same amount of rounds as earlier this year which Usyk won via split decision.
