In a conversation with Khel Now, The Gangster revealed an exciting potential boxing matchup!
Khel Now had an exclusive chat with Indian boxing sensation Neeraj Goyat, where he spoke about his life, career, influencer boxing, Jake Paul, Mike Tyson, and his upcoming book.
Neeraj Goyat, fondly nicknamed “The Gangster”, hails from Yamunanagar, Haryana, a region not traditionally known for sports. In our conversation, Neeraj revealed that he started boxing simply because he wanted to be stronger as a schoolboy.
“In school, I was the smallest in class, always standing at the front during prayer. I wanted to become stronger, so I got into sports. First athletics, then basketball, and finally I chose boxing.”
Over the years, Neeraj’s grit and dedication carried him to Pune’s Army Sports Institute, where he competed with India’s best. His journey eventually took him overseas, making him India’s most recognized professional boxer.
Samay Raina has expressed interest in fighting Ranveer Allahbadia aka Beer Biceps
When asked about the rise of influencer boxing in India, with comedian Samay Raina expressing interest in fighting YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia (Beer Biceps), Neeraj smiled:

Jake Paul, Mike Tyson, & Influencer boxing
Neeraj became a mainstream name after calling out YouTube star-turned-boxer Jake Paul.

Neeraj later ended up on the Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson card on Netflix, becoming the first Indian boxer to fight on such a massive global stage.
“I first started watching Mike Tyson’s videos on YouTube back in 2006. He was my idol. And then in 2024, I was sharing fight week with him. For me, that was like a dream come true.”
Neeraj’s new book – The 14 KM journey
Neeraj also revealed his upcoming book “The 14 KM Journey”, which details his struggles, failures, and rise in professional boxing.
“This book is not just for boxers. It’s for anyone who feels like they have failed. It covers my army journey, my boxing struggles, my fights, and even some moments of love and heartbreak.”
Neeraj hopes the book will inspire youngsters and bring boxing closer to Indian households.
“Even today, I have to rely on other countries for opportunities. Our TV channels don’t broadcast boxing. My dream is to make sure the sport reaches every home in India.”
