After much anticipation, a date for the highly anticipated clash between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua has been announced. The heavyweight showdown is set for December 11 at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales, UK.
The stadium has a total capacity of 78,000. Chairman of the General Entertainment Authority and president of the Saudi Boxing Federation, Turki Alalshikh, announced the match via his X handle. The fight will be available to stream on Netflix globally.

Fury (36-2-1) is set to return to the ring following consecutive victories over Arslanbek Makhmudov and Mariusz Wach. Those wins came after Fury suffered back-to-back high-profile losses to Oleksandr Usyk, which shattered his undefeated record.
Joshua (30-4) will also enter the fight riding a two-fight winning streak. He most recently scored a knockout victory over Kristian Prenga. His win over Jake Paul in December 2025 marked his return to the win column after suffering defeat against Daniel Dubois.
Fury is a former unified and two-time world heavyweight champion who captured all four of those major governing body world titles (WBA, WBC, IBF, and WBO) at different points in his career.
Meanwhile, Joshua also held three of those four major belts simultaneously (WBA, IBF, and WBO) during his career. However, Joshua had not held the WBC title.
Beyond their records, the fight carries considerable significance because Fury and Joshua have spent years being linked with one another without ever sharing the ring. Both men have established themselves as two of the biggest British boxing stars of their generation and have recently bounced back from high-profile losses, looking to continue the momentum.
On September 30, both Joshua and Fury will take part in a press conference hosted at the British Airways Arc located in London.
Despite both Fury and AJ not being in their prime or holding multiple titles, the years-long buildup, intense national rivalry, and massive mainstream appeal are a formula for becoming a landmark event for the sport.
