“Yeah, that’s a tough one,” White said when asked about Mayweather.
“I’ve talked to him about it but I don’t know enough about it. You hear all these different stories and I think you have to wait to see how this thing is going to play out in court for him.”
White also reflected on the harsh reality that many elite athletes face after retirement, explaining that wealth accumulated over decades can sometimes disappear because of poor management, legal disputes, or outside influences.
“But when somebody works as hard as he did and amasses the type of wealth that he had and then they lose it, or it gets stolen or whatever the deal is, it’s horrible, and it happens a lot in professional sports.”
Floyd Mayweather’s future remains uncertain
White did not rule out working with Mayweather again if the opportunity presented itself. While he stopped short of revealing any concrete plans, he hinted that the pair could potentially collaborate in the future if it helped the boxing icon navigate his current situation.
“So who knows? Anything is possible and maybe we could do something to figure it out for him,” White added.
Mayweather had recently been linked to a series of exhibition bouts, including a scheduled appearance against kickboxing legend Mike Zambidis in Athens as part of a planned three-fight tour. Reports had also suggested potential high-profile matchups against Mike Tyson and longtime rival Manny Pacquiao before returning to professional boxing.
However, those plans have appeared to stall as attention shifts toward Mayweather’s reported legal and financial challenges.
Although the outcome remains uncertain, White’s comments make it clear that one of combat sports’ most influential figures is prepared to support his longtime friend if the need arises.
