CWG 2026 Closing Ceremony: Date, time, performers, venue, & live streaming details

The CWG 2026 closing ceremony will be held on August 2.
The Glasgow Games are almost coming to a close. After 11 days of racing, lifting, boxing, swimming and everything in between, the Commonwealth Games 2026 will wrap up on Sunday with a closing ceremony that’s as much about looking ahead as it is about looking back.
This time, the send-off comes with a twist: India is not just attending as a guest, but stepping up as the next host, and organisers have built the night around that handover.
The action shifts to the OVO Hydro, the same indoor arena that hosted the opening ceremony back on July 23, which had never staged an opening night entirely indoors before. Scotland gets to take a bow for pulling off a scaled-down but still ambitious edition, and then hands the baton to Ahmedabad.
Musically, it will be a real mash-up of cultures. Simple Minds lead the home celebrations, flanked by a lineup of Scottish talent, while Delta Goodrem flies in from Australia for a bit of nostalgia two decades on from Melbourne 2006.
But the moment everyone’s talking about is the 20-minute Indian segment involving Shankar Mahadevan, his sons, Manushi Chhillar, Bhoomi Trivedi, and a sitar-meets-bagpipes collaboration that’s designed to bridge Glasgow and Gujarat in one sweep.
