A 32-member Indian athletics team will represent the country at the Commonwealth Games 2026 in Glasgow, Scotland. The Scotstoun Stadium, with a seating capacity of 11,000, will host nearly 60 athletics medal events across a six-day schedule from July 27 to August 1, 2026.

India heads into the Games after a successful campaign at the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games, where the athletics contingent claimed eight medals.

Spearheaded by two-time Olympic medallist Neeraj Chopra, the Indian 32-member athletics contingent will shoulder the responsibility of lifting the nation in the medal tally.

While Chopra, alongside Rohit Yadav and Yash Vir Singh, will only start his campaign on July 29, several of India’s athletics stars will be in action from July 27 itself.

On the opening day of the athletics event, athletes like Gurindervir Singh, Murali Sreeshankar, Sarvesh Anil Kushare, Tejaswin Shankar and Tejas Shirse will be in action.

Indian athletics & para-athletics squad for Commonwealth Games 2026

The Athletics Federation of India (AFI) has named a 32-member athletics contingent for the Commonwealth Games 2026. Olympic champion Neeraj Chopra and triple jumper Selva Prabhu were the final additions to the squad after Chopra competed at the Diamond League and Selva met the required effort at the domestic meet in Bhubaneswar, completing India’s athletics contingent for the Games.
