After an action-packed inaugural day of the Commonwealth Games 2026 in Glasgow, the focus now shifts to Day 2 with a major focus on lawn bowls and boxing.
In swimming, swimmer Srihari Nataraj and para swimmers Ravi Budigna and Imam Ali will aim to lock in semi-final and final spots after launching their campaigns in heats.
Lovlina Borgohain (75kg) received a bye straight into the semi-finals, securing India’s first confirmed medal of the Games. Jadumani Singh (Men’s 55kg) kicked off India’s ring action in the Round of 32 against Scotland’s Aaron Cullen.

In Para Powerlifting, Ashok Malik put up a standout performance in the Men’s Lightweight final, recording a personal best of 200kg to finish fourth overall. Parmjeet Kumar finished sixth with a best lift of 179kg.
In the Women’s Lightweight final, Jaspreet Kaur and Suman Devi finished sixth and seventh respectively.
In Artistic Gymnastics – The Men’s team—featuring Tapan Mohanty, Swathish KP, Tapeshwarnath Das, and Yogeshwar Singh—put on an outstanding performance during qualifications, topping multiple apparatus standings (Floor, Pommel Horse, Rings, Vault, and Parallel Bars).
