Commonwealth Games 2026: Full list of Indian para-athletes contingent & sport-wise entries for Glasgow CWG
India’s 28-member para-athlete contingent will take the field in Glasgow.
The Commonwealth Games 2026 is set to be the most significant edition for para-sport in the history of the Games. Glasgow 2026 will feature 47 para-sport medal events, the largest integrated para-sport programme in the 96-year history of the Commonwealth Games.
Indian para-athletes have won a total of seven medals since their debut at the Manchester 2002 Commonwealth Games.
In terms of India’s overall performance at the Commonwealth Games, this is a modest result, but context matters too. The para sport programme has grown considerably with each edition, and the squad India has assembled for Glasgow reflects that trajectory.
The 28-strong group spans para athletics, para powerlifting, para swimming, para track cycling, and the women’s 3×3 wheelchair basketball team, making it one of the more diverse para contingents India has sent to a Commonwealth Games.
16-year-old Lisha Das will be India’s lone representative in para track cycling and the youngest member of the Indian contingent. The para athletics team, the largest of the five disciplines at 11 athletes, carries the bulk of India’s medal hopes.
Compared to Birmingham 2022, India’s best opportunity to improve its medal tally lies in para athletics. Para Table Tennis and Para Triathlon, two disciplines that have previously featured, are absent from the Glasgow programme. This is a huge blow for India’s chances, as it had won two of its three medals in para table tennis.
