Pakistan’s 36-member contingent includes Paris Olympics Gold medalist Arshad Nadeem.

Pakistan have been a fixture at the Commonwealth Games since their debut in Vancouver in 1954, and across 15 appearances they have built a respectable tally of over 75 medals on the all-time table, finishing as high as fourth at the 1962 Perth edition when they claimed eight gold medals.

Hockey has always played a pivotal role in their Commonwealth Games journey; they have won 42 medals in the sport, including 21 golds. However, hockey is not included in the Glasgow Games, along with wrestling and weightlifting, two other disciplines that have consistently produced Pakistani medals.

At Birmingham 2022, the country enjoyed its best haul since 1970, returning home with eight medals, including gold for Arshad Nadeem in the javelin and Nooh Dastgir Butt in the super-heavyweight weightlifting.

For Glasgow 2026, Pakistan have formed a 36-member contingent competing across six disciplines: athletics, boxing, judo, gymnastics, lawn bowls and swimming.

The unavoidable reality is that the scaled-down Glasgow programme has stripped out almost every sport in which Pakistan carries genuine depth, making Arshad Nadeem the clear focal point of the country’s medal ambitions.
