India at Commonwealth Games 2026: Weightlifting schedule, squad, & live streaming details

India have sent 11 weightlifters for the Commonwealth Games 2026.
The Indian weightlifting contingent won 10 medals at the last edition of the Commonwealth Games, including 3 gold, 3 silver, and 4 bronze. They are expected to replicate the same success in the ongoing campaign, too.
Olympic medalist Mirabai Chanu will headline the contingent as she continues to be the most experienced and established athlete in the line-up. Meanwhile, expectations will also be pinned on Bindyarani Devi, who won a silver medal last time. She will compete in the 58 kg category.
Harjinder Kaur and Lovepreet Singh also won bronze medals in Birmingham; however, they will be keen to change the colour of their medals in Glasgow.
Recently, the Indian contingent had to reduce the size of their squad to 11 members; consequently, Dilbag Singh, who was set to compete in the men’s 94kg weightlifting event, will no longer participate in the Games.
The decision to reduce India’s weightlifting quota was due to multiple anti-doping rule violations (ADRVs) committed during the qualification cycle. Dilbag Singh did not incur any anti-doping violations, as he also told the Bridge that he was withdrawing due to an injury.
However, the remaining contingent will continue to represent India at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games.
