The Commonwealth Games 2026 will be held in Glasgow from 23rd July to 2nd August, marking the city’s second time hosting this tournament after the historic 2014 edition.
The upcoming edition looks quite different. It does not feature the usual large-scale sports disciplines; instead, it is a leaner, cost-effective tournament with 215 medal events across 10 sports, making it one of the most compact editions in the tournament’s history.
The Indian contingent consists of 124 athletes, who will compete in eight able-bodied events and five sports. Although sports like wrestling, badminton, and shooting are not part of the upcoming edition, the contingent includes multiple Olympic medalists and world champions who can aim for another medal.

Indian athletes will compete in athletics, weightlifting, boxing, judo, track cycling, artistic gymnastics, lawn bowls, and swimming.
The contingent includes a dedicated 28-member para squad competing in para-athletics, para-powerlifting, para-swimming, para-track cycling, and women’s 3×3 wheelchair basketball.
