Bangladesh include Shakib Al Hasan & Litton Das as they name squad for one-off Ireland test

Meanwhile, Tamim Iqbal and Ebadot Hossain made a return to the Bangladesh test side.

After winning in ODI & T20 series comprehensively Bangladesh are set for another battle against Ireland. Bangladesh and Ireland are scheduled to play one-off test in Dhaka from 4th April. BCB has announced the test squad that will take on the Irish challenge in Dhaka. All – rounder Shakib al Hasan will be leading the squad, while opener Tamim Iqbal is making a comeback. ODI and T20 series top scorer Litton Das is also part of the squad for the one-off test match against Ireland. Shakib and Litton’s selection will delay the two players joining their IPL team Kolkata Knight Riders by another week.

Shakib & Litton to prioritize International duty over IPL 2023

Shakib and Litton recently concluded their T-20 series where Bangla tigers defeated Ireland by 2-1. Another Bangladeshi player, Mustafizur Rahman is already in India to join his IPL franchise Delhi Capitals. DC will be playing their first game against Lucknow Super Giants on Saturday night. BCB President Nazmul Hasan has said that teams were aware about Bangladesh Cricket schedule from earlier.

Both Shakib Al Hasan and Litton Das were picked up by Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL 2023 auction. Litton Das in both ODI and T20 series ended up as the top run scorer. Litton in the 3- match ODI series scored 146 runs and in 3 match T20 series ended up scoring 135 runs for Bangladesh. Hasan has said, “We will let them go to IPL in accordance with what we informed the tournament about their availability. We have not changed our decision”.

All-rounder Shakib Al Hasan will be leading the test squad against Ireland. Bangladesh star opener Tamim Iqbal has made his comeback in the test squad with few other names. Shadman Islam, Shoriful Hussain and Pacer Ebadot Hussain have also made their comeback. Taijul Islam and Mehidy Hasan Miraj will look after the spin department against Ireland. Bangladesh had defeated Ireland in both ODI and T20 series.
