Here is the list of Indian batsmen who hit 150+ on test debut:
3. Yashasvi Jaiswal - 171 vs WI, Dominica 2023:
The 21-year-old Yashasvi Jaiswal became the latest Indian batter to score a hundred on his Test debut. Jaiswal made his test debut in the ongoing game between India and the West Indies in Dominica. He scored a century and became the 17th Indian batter and third opener to achieve this milestone. He scored his century off 215 balls and carried on his innings. Jaiswal looked good enough to reach a double century in his first game. But unfortunately, he missed the chance and got out after scoring 171 runs, including 16 fours and one six.
2. Rohit Sharma - 177 vs WI, Kolkata 2013:
Indian skipper Rohit Sharma also made a grand entry in Test Cricket. He played his first game against the West Indies in November 2013 at the Eden Gardens. Rohit scored a 194-ball hundred, which he made in India's first innings. He took on the bowling and completed 150 runs from 254 balls. Rohit was looking good for a big score but got out 177 runs from 301 balls, including 23 fours and one six. This is the second-highest score by an Indian batter on Test debut.
1. Shikhar Dhawan - 187 vs AUS, Mohali 2013:
Shikhar Dhawan is known for his free-flowing approach both on and off the field. That is how he made his entry in the longest format. Dhawan made his Test debut against Australia in Mohali in March 2013. And he broke all the records. The left-hander smashed the fastest debut century and made his debut ton off just 85 balls. He completed 150 runs in 131 balls. And when it looked like he might get the fastest double century in debut, he got out. But before that, he played a record-breaking knock of 187 runs off 174 balls, with 33 fours and two sixes.
