Three Indian cricketers who were part of Asia Cup 2023 but not included in ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 squad

India have named 15-member squad for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023.
The squad for the upcoming ODI World Cup for the Indian team has finally been announced. On Tuesday, the selection committee, led by Ajit Agarkar, named a 15-member team that will compete in the mega event held in India. The hosts will start their campaign on October 8 against Australia and are currently participating in the Asia Cup 2023.
Notably, the squad for the World Cup is almost the same as that for the Asia Cup. But a couple of players have been dropped from it. Here we will talk about three unlucky players who couldn't make the cut in the squad and have been dropped.
3 players who are part of Asia Cup 2023 but dropped from the World Cup squad:
1. Tilak Varma:

The young left-hander got his maiden ODI call-up for the Asia Cup 2023 after doing well in his debut T20I series against West Indies last month. He showed great maturity at the young age of 20 and also offers the option of off-spin. In the absence of a regular middle-order batter, Tilak showed that he could be an ideal replacement. However, the return of Shreyas Iyer and KL Rahul has made the Indian selection committee drop the left-hander. India have gone with the experienced pros in the middle order.
2. Prasidh Krishna:

Another name that is part of the team in the Asia Cup but has been dropped from the World Cup is pacer Prasidh Krishna. The 27-year-old has a good track record in ODIs and has taken 25 wickets in 14 games. But he had been suffering from injuries for a long time and made his comeback on the Ireland tour. However, India decided to go with an experienced pace attack, which ended against Krishna. Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami, Mohammed Siraj, and Shardul Thakur are the specialist pacers in the team.
3. Sanju Samson:

One of the most talked-about players to get dropped is Sanju Samson. It came as a surprise to many fans, but Samson was with the team as a travelling reserve back-up wicket-keeper. Now Ishan Kishan has done well in ODIs and performed, while KL Rahul is back from injury and fully fit. That is the reason that Samson has been sidelined from the World Cup team. However, there is still a point of debate over why India chose Rahul without match time over Samson, who has been with the team for the last 12 months or so.
