3 Players who can replace injured Rajat Patidar in RCB squad for IPL 2023
RCB batsman Rajat Patidar is out of the IPL 2023 with Achilies heel injury.
The ongoing season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) has brought bad news for the Royal Challengers Bangalore as their star batter Rajat Patidar has been ruled out for the entire tournament due to an Achilles Heel injury, dealing a major blow to the team. Although it was originally expected that he would miss only the first half of the season, RCB has confirmed his complete unavailability.
In a tweet, RCB has wished Patidar a speedy recovery and promised to support him throughout his rehabilitation. The coaches and management have decided not to announce any replacement player for Patidar for the time being.
Let’s take a look at 3 players who can replace Rajat Patidar.
1. Karun Nair
Karun Nair's IPL journey has been a roller-coaster ride with its fair share of highs and lows. In his 76 IPL matches, he has scored 1496 runs, making him a sought-after player in the league, and he has represented multiple franchises over the years. Karun Nair continues to be a valuable asset to any team in the IPL due to his consistent performances. He possesses the ability to score runs swiftly and can also anchor an innings if required. With his expertise and skill set, he can be an excellent addition to any squad in the tournament. Despite being went unsold in IPL 2023 Mini Auction, his IPL career is far from over. If the Royal Challengers Bangalore require a replacement for Rajat Patidar, Karun Nair could potentially fill that role as he remains a potent batsman in the league.
2. Priyam Garg
Priyam Garg is a right-handed all-rounder hailing from Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, who made his debut in the Indian Premier League in 2020. In his IPL career so far, he has played 21 matches, scoring 251 runs with one half-century to his name, and his highest score being an unbeaten 51 runs. Priyam has represented Sunrisers Hyderabad in all three seasons of his IPL career. Although his IPL records may not fully showcase his talent, he is a skilled player who can add value to any team. Despite going unsold in the IPL 2022 mini-auction, he could be a viable replacement option for Rajat Patidar in the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) team.
3. Abhimanyu Easwaran
Abhimanyu Easwaran, a 27-year-old cricketer hailing from Bengal, has an impressive track record across all cricket formats. Having scored over 6557 runs in 87 First-class games and 3376 runs in 78 List A games with an average of 47.9 and 46.2, respectively, he has shown his prowess as a consistent performer. Despite his impressive performances, he is yet to make his debut for the Indian cricket team.
In T20s, Easwaran he has scored 728 runs in 28 matches at an average of 38.3, including a century and three half-centuries. Although he went unsold in the mini auction and yet to feature in the Indian Premier League, he could prove to be a valuable addition to the Royal Challengers Bangalore team, bringing stability to the top of their batting order.
