In the fourth test against England in the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy 2025, he slammed a magical century to help India end the game in a draw. It was among his best batting performances in test cricket this year.

England batter Joe Root has mustered 790 runs in 10 games at an average of 52.66 across 17 innings. In 2025, the right-handed batsman became the second highest all-time run-scorer in test cricket, overtaking batting legends like Ricky Ponting, Jacques Kallis, and Rahul Dravid. The 34-year-old stormed four centuries, three of which came against India in the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy 2025.
