"67 balls" Fans react as Virat Kohli scores slowest ever IPL century

Virat Kohli smashed his eighth ton in the IPL.
Legendary batter Virat Kohli became the first batter to smash a century in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 season. Kohli achieved this feat during the match No. 19 between Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on April 6.
After losing the toss and being asked to bat first, RCB started on a good note as openers Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis added a 125-run stand for the opening wicket. Kohli converted his start into a big score as he brought up his first century of the season and eighth overall.
Kohli took 67 balls to reach his century and then finished his innings at 113 off 72 deliveries including 12 fours and four sixes. However, during his stay at the wicket, Kohli achieved an unwanted record. He equaled Manish Pandey’s unwanted record for the slowest ever IPL century. Pandey had scored a 67-ball century in IPL 2009 while playing for RCB against Deccan Chargers.
Following Virat Kohli’s knock in the match, some have praised the Run Machine for scoring heavy load of runs, but some have criticised the way he batted and took too many balls to reach his century.
