Abhishek Sharma recorded a blistering century against England in Mumbai.

Following his second T20I century, Abhishek Sharma has made a massive jump of 38 places in the ICC men’s T20I batting rankings to sit at the No. 2 position, right behind Travis Head.

In the fifth IND vs ENG T20I at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, Abhishek blasted 135 runs off 54 balls to help India win by 150 runs. This is the second T20I hundred of his 17-match T20I career, and he also has a couple of fifties to his name.

The 24-year-old now has 829 rating points, while Head sits at the top of the T20I batting rankings with 855 rating points.

Behind Sharma is his India teammate Tilak Varma at the third spot, followed by Phil Salt in the fourth position, and Suryakumar Yadav in the fifth position.

Varun Chakravarthy reaches career-best ICC ranking

Meanwhile, Varun Chakravarthy, who had entered the top 10 rankings for bowlers for the first time in his career recently, has now climbed to the joint-second spot, holding it with Adil Rashid. Rashid has been displaced from his numero uno position by West Indies’ left-arm spinner Akeal Hosein.

Chakravarthy was the Man of the Series against England for his 14 wickets in five games at an average of only 9.85, which included a five-wicket haul. Both, Chakravarthy and Rashid are just two rating points behind Hosein.

Further, India leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi also made a small stride in the ICC T20I bowling rankings by moving up four places to the sixth spot. On the other hand, England fast bowler Jofra Archer suffered a drop in his ranking, slipping four spots to sit in the 10th position.
