Abhishek Sharma continues his impressive form in Sher-e-Punjab T20 league.

Abhishek Sharma is synonymous with a fearless batting approach, and everywhere he goes, he leaves his mark in the same style. The 25-year-old Indian cricketer, who was once the No. 1 T20I batter in the ICC rankings, had lost his form recently in international cricket, and India suffered a few unwanted losses against Ireland and England.

However, Abhishek Sharma went back to domestic cricket to regain his form. In the Sher-e-Punjab T20 League, which was introduced for the first time this year, Abhishek is captaining Amritsar Soormas. In the first match of the tournament, Abhishek announced himself by scoring a brilliant 77 runs off 26 balls. His brilliant knock helped the team post a huge total of 258 runs.

However, it wasn’t enough, as Mohali Kings chased down the target with three balls remaining, courtesy of a century by Anmolpreet Singh. Abhishek and his team continued with the same approach in their second game of the tournament against Jalandhar Warriors.

Batting first against Jalandhar Warriors, the Soormas didn’t have a great start as they lost their first wicket at just 5 runs, with Sahaj Dhawan getting bowled out. However, what followed was a huge partnership between Abhishek Sharma and Naman Dhir. Both star batters took charge and put together a partnership of 151 runs.

Naman Dhir scored a brilliant century, scoring 117 runs off 56 balls, while captain Abhishek Sharma impressed everyone once again as he scored 82 runs off 36 balls. Even though he missed out on a century, it was another entertaining knock by the Soormas skipper as they posted a massive total of 264 runs, bettering their score from the last match.

Abhishek’s supporters and Indian team fans are delighted to see him back in form and scoring two back-to-back fifties at a great strike rate. The fans will be hoping that he continues the same form in the Sher-e-Punjab T20 League and also carries it into international cricket. The Indian team will next play Afghanistan in a three-match T20I series, and it will be important to see how Abhishek carries his form back into international cricket.

What are Abhishek Sharma’s scores in the two matches of the Sher-e-Punjab T20 League?

Abhishek Sharma has scored 77 runs off 26 balls in the first match and 82 runs off 36 balls in the second match.

When is the Indian cricket team playing its next series?

India’s next series is a three-match T20I series against Afghanistan, starting September 13, 2026.
