Pakistan Cricket Team and Sri Lanka Cricket Team are locking horns in Super match 3 of Asia Cup 2025 on Tuesday, September 23 at Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi. After opting to field, Pakistan came up with a great effort with the ball with Abrar Ahmed being the star.
Abrar Ahmed gave a marvellous performance with the ball, conceding just eight runs across his four overs with one wicket. He also scripted the record for the most economical four-over spell by a spinner in T20I Asia Cup history, breaking the previous record of Harbhajan Singh (1/11)
Sri Lanka lost their five batters within eight overs and to trouble them more, Abrar removed Wanindu Hasaranga, who was looking good with the bat. The Pakistan spinner rattled the stumps of the batter on the first delivery of 13th over.
However, after getting a wicket, Abrar came up with an eye-catching thing. He mocked him by replicating his celebration style as Hasaranga got out for 15 runs off 13 deliveries.

Meanwhile, Pakistan restricted Sri Lanka to 133/8 after opting to bowl first in the encounter. Pacer Shaheen Afridi dismissed Kusal Mendis for a duck in the first over. Pathum Nissanka (8), Kusal Perera (15), Charith Asalanka (20), and Dasun Shanaka (0), who are in form, failed to go big.
With team under pressure, Kamindu Mendis (50) hammered a crucial half-century for the team, taking them to a fighting total. For Pakistan, Shaheen Afridi clinched a three-wicket haul, while Haris Rauf and Hussain Talat got two scalps each.
Notably, this is a very crucial game for both sides, as they lost their opening matches of Super Four round. Sri Lanka faced a defeat against Bangladesh by four wickets in their previous game. Pakistan lost to India by six wickets in their last match.
