Afghanistan and Bangladesh will play in three T20Is and three ODIs in October.

Afghanistan will host Bangladesh in six white-ball matches in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in October, right after the completion of Asia Cup 2025, which ends on September 28.

The bilateral series between Afghanistan and Bangladesh is the second leg of an all-format series that was originally scheduled for July 2024 and would have included three ODIs, three T20Is, and two test matches.

The series, which was supposed to take place in Greater Noida, India, was postponed because of bad weather and Bangladesh’s hectic schedule, and the schedule was changed to just feature white-ball matches.

After four bilateral ODI series, Bangladesh and Afghanistan have a 2-2 head-to-head record. Afghanistan won the last two series in 2023 and 2024, while Bangladesh won in 2016 and 2022. Bilateral T20I series are also even, with Afghanistan winning in 2018, Bangladesh in 2023, and 2022 ending in a draw.

Both the Bangladesh and Afghanistan squads might stay back in the UAE after Asia Cup 2025 tournament to engage in the bilateral series.

Both Bangladesh and Afghanistan are placed in Group B of Asia Cup 2025 along with Sri Lanka and Hong Kong. They will clash in Abu Dhabi on September 16. The tournament’s Super Fours stage will only be reached by the top two teams from each group. Group A includes the UAE, Pakistan, Oman, and India.

Talking about the bilateral series between the two nations, the opening T20I match of the series will take place on October 2, with the second and third games to follow on October 3 and October 5. The three ODIs that will follow the T20I series are set to take place on October 8, 11, and 14. While the T20I series will be played in Sharjah, the ODI series will be played in Abu Dhabi.
