(Courtesy : ICC)
Afghanistan are slotted in Group 1 of Super 8 round at ICC T20 World Cup 2024.
Under the leadership of Rashid Khan, the Afghanistan cricket team dominated Group C of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024. With three comfortable victories over Uganda, New Zealand and Papua New Guinea, the Rashid-led side booked their berth in the Super 8 stage of the T20 World Cup 2024.
In the group stage, Afghanistan hammered Uganda by 125 runs and crushed the Kane Williamson-led New Zealand by 84 runs, which also dented the Blackcaps’ hopes of reaching the next round. Their 7-wicket win over Papua New Guinea sealed their spot in the Super 8.
With a strong display of teamwork in the group stage, Afghanistan would want to carry this momentum into the Super 8 stage and reach the semi-finals for the first time.
