Fans have witnessed many bizarre incidents in cricket, and every time it surprises the fans like never before. But the incident recorded during the first semifinal of the Canada Super60 2026 was one of the rarest.

It happened on the fourth ball of the ninth over in the first innings. Ali Khan was bowling Kieron Pollard on the crease. The bowler went for a short ball, and the ball kept going after pitching. It went over Pollard, and even the wicket-keeper couldn’t stop it.

The ball went over the boundary line without any contact with anyone. It stunned everyone, and even the commentators were in shock. The umpire gave it a wide and a four, despite the ball going over the boundary line.

It ignited the debate on social media among the fans. However, as per the under-19.7.1 law of MCC’s Laws of Cricket, a batter can get six runs if the ball has made contact with the bat. Meanwhile, the 19.7.2 law states that on all other occasions, only a boundary will be counted, whether the ball hits the field before going over the line or does get in contact with the bat.

As a result, only five runs were added to the total. Toronto Sixers finished 130/4 in the first innings and restricted the Master at 121/7, winning by 9 runs to make it to the final.

Who won the Canada Super60 2026?
