RCB won the IPL 2026 final by defeating Gujarat Titans.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) thrashed the Gujarat Titans (GT) in the final of the Indian Premier League (IPL). RCB chase down a 156-run target by five wickets to win their second title in IPL history.
RCB captain Rajat Patidar opted to bowl first after winning the toss. GT lost both in-form openers Sai Sudharsan (12) and Shubman Gill (10). Jos Buttler also failed to go big as Gujarat suffered a batting collapse at the start, struggling 99/5 at one stage.
Washington Sundar (50*) remained unbeaten till the end but could only take the scoreboard to 155/8. Rasikh Dar clinched a three-wicket haul, while Bhuvneswar Kumar and Josh Hazlewood took two wickets each.
In the chase, Venkatesh Iyer and Virat Kohli gave a blistering start to the RCB, adding 62 runs for the first wicket. Reaching 70 runs in the powerplay, RCB had a brutal start to their innings.
They lost a few wickets in the middle overs cheaply. However, Kohli (75*) ensured to propel the team to an easy victory with his half-century by five wickets.
